BIDS Standards¶
The BIDS specification is backed by a growing set of companion standards that make it usable by software as well as researchers. A YAML-based schema renders the specification's rules in declarative form so tools like the BIDS Validator can check datasets for compliance automatically. Related standards extend that same machine-readable approach to statistical modeling and to running BIDS-compatible applications. These efforts let BIDS evolve without forcing every tool that depends on BIDS to reimplement its logic from scratch.
